(Luckily, or unluckily, he cannot die.)
Appearence EditWilliam's design is practically like Bill Cipher's from the show. Nonetheless, he originally appears as a blue triangular creature, with a single eye, and a black line as a pupil. He wears a tall, thin, black top hat. When he gets enslaved by the twins however, his form takes on a more humanoid appearance. While the style of clothing he wears differs from artist to artist, he's mostly shown wearing a blue suit and a black bow tie or a tie. He wears an eye patch because he still has only one eye, and he has blue hair.
Unlike his counterpart, Will is clueless and naive, something the twins take great pleasure in when toying with him. He's scared easily and is somewhat of a coward. However, this is usually applied only when he's with the twins. William is also known to be very quiet and shy. He cries very often, usually when after a torture session or thinking how much his life is horrible.
It doesn't take much to make him cry.
In their first encounter, (after the initial fear went away), Gideon has always tried to be kind to Will Cipher. They rarely meet, but when they do, Will gives warnings about certain magical beasts and/or the Gleeful twins.
When they first met, William was so surprised by her kindness and hospitality that he thought it was a trap. It was of course not, and since then they don't often meet. When they do meet, he's still marveled how kind she is towards him.
Dipper Gleeful, unlike his twin sister, has no pity for Will Cipher. Sometimes Dipper will use him for his vast amounts of knowledge, but mostly he enjoys in beating and torturing him often. Part of why he could also be torturing Will is as a way of dominance and/or power; this is a reasonable conclusion because Dipper lusts for power, and having complete control over a powerful dream entity would fit the bill snugly. It should also be noted that Dipper has taken out his pent up frustrations upon Will.
Most of the time, Dipper doesn't even call Will by his name; he'd rather use words such as 'slave' and 'useless demon'. Also, since Dipper loses nothing by torturing him, and because Will can't die, it's safe to assume he'll probably continue for the foreseeable future.
Much like her twin brother Dipper, Mabel tortures Will often. However, unlike her twin, she does shown some compassion to William, to an extent. Whether or not the kindness stems mostly from pity, their relationship turns into a somewhat friendly one.
- William Cipher is also sometimes referred to as Bill's twin brother rather than his counterpart.
- William also has many nicknames. Some from the Gleeful Twins, Pacifica, or fans themselves. A couple of examples would be: Blueberry, Bluebird, Cinnamon Roll/Bun, Demon, and Cool Ranch.
- Often, the Gleeful Twins (being manipulative and abusive owners) refuse to call Will by his real name, and simply refer to him as 'slave', 'useless demon', and other insults.
